The Linn County Conservation Department has a dynamic education program to meet the increasing demand for outdoor education opportunities. The natural areas, parks and preserves offer outstanding places to observe, study and enjoy a variety of ecosystems in Linn County. Programs are available for people of all ages. Call the Linn County Conservation Office at (319) 892-6450 to schedule a program - or submit an email request.

Programs are designed for the three primary categories that follow:

SCHOOL PROGRAMS are available on a variety of topics and for any age group - preschool to college. We will meet you at any county-managed area or in your classroom. We are able to tailor most presentations to your curriculum needs. In order to help defray costs, a nominal fee is charged for these programs.

PUBLIC PROGRAMS are offered each month of the year. These programs are designed to encourage the exploration of county natural areas. Please check out our Oak Hickory Newsletter for a current listing.

CIVIC GROUPS are encouraged to request a presentation for a group meeting. A variety of topics are available to fit many interests.

While programs are available for presentation in all areas - specific sites provide unique opportunities for the majority of our public and requested programs:
