Exhibits - Places - Trails - Watercraft
You can find exhibits in the form of native or re-established prairies at one of ten locations throughout the county; visit the new and unique displays at the Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Center; or, catch a glimpse of various wildlife species up close at the wildlife display at Pinicon Ridge Park.
Places are facilities or locations sporting one-of-a-kind features or activities. The Abbe Creek School and Center Point Depot provide a historic flavor, while a visit to the Pinicon Ridge observation tower or Palisades-Dows observatory will offer a different view of the world we live in. Other places include: the Pinicon Ridge Frisbee golf course, the Morgan Creek Arboretum, the Matsell Bridge shooting range.
From the ¾ mile, post-by-post guided tour of the Woodpecker Hill Trail to the 52-mile Cedar Valley - one of thirty trail experiences await you! Equestrian, hiking, biking and snowmobile trails can be found throughout Linn County at the various Linn County and Iowa DNR areas.
Anchored at Pinicon Ridge County Park, two unique watercraft opportunities are available for you. Our canoe trip operation provides 4 different options for a leisurely float down the Wapsipinicon River. And, the "in-park" watercraft concession supplies canoes, paddleboats and snack concession items for use within the quiet water-trail backwaters of the park.
